What To Expect

Step one is identifying the specific trigger(s) for your allergies. Although you may be able to self-identify, there may be other seasonal allergens that are helpful to identify and treat likewise. Allergy testing is a fairly quick procedure and helps us understand what your immunotherapy course will look like. Once we’ve identified the culprit, we begin the immunotherapy! These allergy shots are administered over time with regular evaluation as to their effectiveness. By the time the course is finished, 90% of patients report zero allergy symptoms from their trigger. It works that well.

Dr. Karen Konz has been in private practice since 1995 when she joined Dr. Wendelborn. She earned her D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990.

Dr. Daniel Wendelborn

Dr. Dan Wendelborn, a Wisconsin native, attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from UW Medical School in 1980. He has also contributed to publications in the field of prostaglandins.

       We provide treatment options that allow you to breathe easier and to live your life to the fullest degree possible. State-of-the-art testing methods and technology are used to address the symptoms and severity of asthma, and properly treat our patients.

      Eczema

      Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a form of Dermatitis that usually affects the face and the inside of the elbows and knees. Our trained staff can identify the type of dermatitis you have, and test for allergic triggers of your eczema.

      Food Allergies

      A food allergy is an allergic type immune response to food caused by an allergic antibody called IgE. For an accurate diagnosis, we use allergy skin tests to determine food allergies.

      Rhinitis (Hay Fever)

      Many people experience either seasonal or year-round allergies to common environmental elements like tree, grass or ragweed pollens, dust mite, mold or pet dander. We offer a variety of therapies to manage and treat these problems.

      Hives

      Hives are red, very itchy, swollen areas of the skin. Our highly trained staff test to find the root cause of symptoms and treat accordingly.

      Immunotherapy

      Immunotherapy remains the gold standard for treating and many times completely eliminating your nasal allergies. Also known as allergy shots, immunotherapy works like a vaccine to immunize you to the effects of your outdoor allergies.

      Sinusitis

      Testing is necessary to determine the specific type of sinusitus and severity of the symptoms, our doctors can help decide the best treatment options.

      Stinging Insects

      We frequently treat children and adults who suffer from a bee sting allergy. Our staff can administer a vaccination program called Venom Immunotherapy (VIT), which is up to 98% effective in alleviating severe allergic reactions in people who have allergic reactions to the venom of stinging insects.
